- Archives and Records
The Berkeley Lab Archives and Records Office (ARO) works in close cooperation with the National Archives and Records Administration's (NARA's) Pacific Region (San Francisco) Federal Records Center and Archives facilities in San Bruno to preserve, maintain, and provide access to laboratory records, including textual records, photographs, maps, architectural and engineering records, motion-pictures, and videotape.
The askUS system provides users with a web portal for accessing a wide variety of Berkeley Lab Operations business services. From the askUS portal users can access and submit structured service requests (catalog items), ask process questions or report problems (help desks), and read process-related information (knowledge articles). Service provides (fulfillers) are provided tools to access, process and respond to customer requests. The IT askUS team supports the development and maintenance of the askUS system and as well as controlling service provider access.
- Business Systems Department Administration
Business systems provide automation for the operational functions of the Laboratory. Business systems include system for managing human resource, financial, safety&health, and facilities operations. In each case, IT provides support to the "Functional Owner" to implement their business processes through applications.
